PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Hello and welcome to the Tallahassee Dietetic Association (TDA) website. TDA is the advocate of nutrition/dietetic professionals serving the Tallahassee and surrounding counties through the promotion of optimal nutrition and health. Members of the association include registered dietitians (RDs), licensed dietitians/nutritionists, registered dietetic technicians, and dietetic interns and students. Our members are employed in a variety of different areas including business and industry, schools and universities, hospitals and clinics, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, local, state, and federal government agencies, fitness centers, and private nutrition counseling practice.
I am looking forward to another great year of serving the members of TDA and the community in any way possible. We hope your "wellness recipe" involves making a conscious decision to choose fruits and vegetables vibrant in color, hearty whole grains, lean protein-rich meats, poultry, fish, beans/legumes, and skim and low-fat, calcium-rich dairy foods each day. Keeping balance, variety, and moderation in the "recipe mix" with a hefty dash of physical activity helps add health and vitality to life. We hope you will join us in the journey to wellness.
Eat well, live well, Tallahassee!
Rick Parks, MS, RD
